Martin V. Mendicki (President)
has been a board member since 2011. Marty is a native of Parsons and is a funeral director and embalmer with Wall Funeral Services. He is a member of the First Baptist Church and has throughout the years chaired various committees and served on the Diaconate. He is also a member and past president of the Parsons Lions Club and is a member of Gideons International. In addition to serving on the PEF board, Marty is currently serving as Secretary of the Parsons Credit Union board of directors and is Co-Vice President of the Parsons Community Development Corp. In past years he also served as a board member and board chairman of the Labette County Chapter of the American Red Cross.
Kenneth Taylor (Vice President)
Andrea Hetlinger (Secretary)
was elected to the PEF board in 2009 and has served on the Teacher Mini-Grant Committee and the Scholarship Committee since that time. After spending several years working as an auditor in a Big Four public accounting firm, and then holding a position as a financial analyst for a large paving and trucking company on the east coast, Andrea is currently a full-time wife and mother. In addition to serving on the PEF board, Andrea serves as Treasurer for the Parsons Elementary Schools PTO.
Jeffrey J. Quirin (Treasurer)
is the treasurer of the PEF board and has served in that capacity since being elected to the board in 2003 as a founding board member. He is a professor of accounting at Wichita State University and is also a litigation consultant on complex accounting and valuation issues. In addition to serving on the PEF board, Jeff currently holds the position of president of the board of education for Parsons District Schools – USD 503.
David Martin
Immediate Past President of the PEF. He is VP of Operations of Sun Graphics, LLC in Parsons. A 1977 graduate of PHS, he has also served on the Parsons Recreation Commission Board, and on the Finance Committee during the first bond election to renovate the Parsons Middle School. David also served on the board of the Parsons Wrestling Club.
Dr. Wayne Gilmore
has served on the PEF board since 2003, and has chaired the foundation’s Scholarship Committee since its inception in 2004. He is a Doctor of Optometry and co-owns Eyecare Associates of Parsons. In addition to his duties with the PEF, Wayne is president of Labette County Big Brothers Big Sisters, vice president of the Parsons Dolphins Swim Team, President of Parsons Babe Ruth, and an advisory board member of the Gorilla Fund with Pitt State Athletics. Wayne and his wife Tracy have three children in Parsons District schools; Luke, Zach, and Bridgette.
Montie Taylor
is one of the founding PEF board members and served as the organization’s first president in 2003. Since 1973, Taylor has served as a Community banker in Parsons. Taylor has a long history of community service as he presently is on the Labette Community College Board of Trustees, a Director of the Pittsburg State University Foundation, a Director of the Community Foundation of Southeast Kansas, a Director of JOBS, Inc, and President of the Parsons State Hospital & Training Center Foundation.
Anita Lawrence
has served on the PEF Board since the organization’s inception in 2003. She previously held the position of PEF secretary until 2009 and currently serves on the Teacher Mini-Grant Committee. Anita is employed by LaForge and Budd Construction Company, Inc as the controller, office manager, and corporate secretary. She is a graduate of Pittsburg State University with a BS in Accounting.
David Ray
has served on the PEF board since 2012 and is member of the Scholarship Committee. David is a life-long Parsons native and currently holds the position of Vice-President of Sales at Ray Products.
